Join artist Pattie Knights for a botanical casting workshop. Unleash your creative side using wild plants and flowers and natural materials to create a unique piece of art, while drawing inspiration from the surrounding beauty of nature. The workshop will last 2.5 hours and all materials will be provided. We will have a break mid-morning to wander into the woodland should you wish to, and I will provide hot and cold drinks and a vegan snack (please specify any dietary requirements by emailing Pattie at info@wildfolksanctuary.co.uk). The workshop will be taking place undercover outside (please see FAQ's at the top of the home page for more details). You will create a cast using the flowers and wild plants I provide and you may wish to bring your own flowers or plants from your garden. Your tile will be left in natural plaster due to the plaster needing a minimum of a week to cure before sanding, varnishing and painting. Natural tiles are equally appealing however should you wish to paint your tile I will demonstrate how to hand finish your cast during the workshop. I will provide you with suitable varnish and sandpaper for you to take home to finish your piece along with detailed instructions on the process of botanical plaster casting and materials needed should you wish to continue creating at home. I'm looking forward to sharing this mindful and magical experience with you!
